What If: Spotify, Call the artist!

The satirical version of this option would allow users to call the artist if they stream one song ( or multiple songs ) enough times.

But is an actual feature similar to that one out of reach? Or is it something Spotify can easily implement?

Spotify released their awaited “Spotify Wrapped” a few days ago, they have turned listening to music into an achievement!

People look forward to seeing who they have been listening to the whole year, and more often than not they end up sharing it with their close circle of friends.

An example of the data Spotify Wrapped shows:

• 5 Top-streamed artists for the year

• Total minutes listened.

What if We added “Top 10 fans for every artist”?

It would show the artist who their top 10 streamers are and would show the users if they made it to the top 10 streamers list!

Then, Spotify can roll out a new program, like an artist loyalty program, to offer some rewards to the top streamers of each artist!

The experience would be totally unique to the artist; every artist would have the chance to tailor the experience they would like to deliver to their fans.

Examples of rewards can be:

• VIP tickets to shows

• Meeting the artist before a show

• Backstage access during a show

• Exclusive Access to products

This will be a 2 step process:

1) Artists will sign up for the program + have rewards ( or gifts ) ready for the top streamers before “Spotify Wrapped” is released.

2) Spotify Wrapped announces the top 10 streamers of every artist, and they receive their rewards based on their position on the list.

This would also bring some healthy competition and leave the top fans feeling a little more appreciated.
